The longtime leader of a charitable foundation has joined Drury University’s staff to help students reach nonprofits, and to help those nonprofits find promising developmental talent.

Brian Fogle, former president of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, has accepted a faculty position at Drury University, according to a press release from the school. As an executive in residence, Fogle will help connect Drury students with needs and challenges to nonprofit groups that can meet them.

Fogle said he hopes to also help guide students, through undergraduate and continuing education programs, to work in the non-profit field, so that they have outstanding candidates to get important work done across the country.

“The non-profit sector currently employs over 10% of our country’s workforce,” Fogle said in the release. “We look forward to providing resources to have employees even better prepared for that important work.”

A 30-year banking veteran in Springfield, Fogle in 2008 joined the Community Foundation of the Ozarks as its third president. He led the foundation to new heights of prestige and growth during his 15-year tenure, and retired in 2023.

“Fogle has spent his career providing leadership and service to the greater Springfield area,” said Drury Provost Beth Harville in the release. “Drury is fortunate to have Brian engaging with our students and teaching them how to impact their community.”

Fogle was honored by the Daily Citizen in 2024 with a Catalyst for Good Award. He chairs the Good Community Committee, Missouri College Access Network and Rural Schools Collaborative.
