Know someone who’s made a major impact on the local arts community? Nominate them for an Ozzie.

The Springfield Regional Arts Council is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Ozzie Awards through May 13. Winners will be honored at the 37th annual Ozzie Awards Oct. 15 at the Springfield-Branson National Airport.

“We are looking for individuals or organizations that truly embodied the enduring, creative spirit of the southwest Missouri arts scene,” Leslie Forrester, SRAC executive director, said.

Nominations can be made online, by mail or in person at the SRAC office, located in The Creamery Arts Center, 411 North Sherman Parkway. All nomination information is confidential.

First awarded in 1985, the Ozzie Awards are given each year to individuals, organizations and businesses which have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the arts in southwest Missouri. A selection committee chooses the winners from the field of nominations.

“Prior to the pandemic, the Ozzie Awards were one of the most anticipated events of the year,” Forrester said. “The evening has all the makings of an amazing night out: delicious food, outstanding performances and conversation with the best and the brightest in the arts community.” For more information, contact Sarah Abele, SRAC marketing and development director, at Sarah@SpringfieldArts.org or 417-862-2787.
