Thousands of runners weaved through central Springfield on Sunday for the 16th annual Bass Pro Marathon and races.

The runners kicked it off at the flagship Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and ended at the White River Conference Center.

Rolla native Kimi Reed won women's first place in the marathon, and it was not her first time winning first in the Bass Pro event.

The races are part of a series of not-for-profit events sponsored by the Bass Pro Shops, with a mission to “celebrate health and wellness, outdoor adventures and wildlife conservation in the beauty of the Ozarks,” according to the event website.
