What's going in? Well, there's a sign up now and it's not that easy to see from Battlefield Road. (Photo by Steve Pokin)

Answer Man: Excavation is going on a couple blocks west of Kansas Expressway on the south side of Battlefield Road. It was formerly an empty lot with donation boxes for used clothing drops. There was no sign that I could see. What's going in? — Suzanne Walker, of Springfield

Suzanne, you sent me your email June 28. By the time I drove by the location — Battlefield and South Cox Road — on July 7 there was a sign.

It will be an O'Reilly Auto Parts store. The sign is on Cox, hard to spot if driving by on Battlefield.

It will be a hub store, meaning it will have extra warehouse space.

The site foreman, Bryant Doss, happened to be there.

If all goes well, he says, the store should open in late November or December.

This is Answer Man column No. 47.
