It’s here: 27 feet of hotdog on four wheels. And its drivers want to meat up with you.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will be in the Springfield area Aug. 18-21, with seven opportunities for you to see the iconic vehicle. You can also ketchup with the Oscar Mayer Hotdoggers driving it across the country: “Ketchup Kaitlyn” Bross and “Benny Buns” Godfrey.

“We have a prize wheel where you can win Oscar Mayer hats, T-shirts, and more while supplies last,” Bross said. “Come on down to take a photo with a 27-foot-long hotdog — and you may even leave with our iconic ‘wiener whistle.’”

From ‘Hotdog High' to life on the road

This is one of six Wienermobiles currently crisscrossing the United States, and Bross and Godfrey are two of 12 Hotdoggers driving the big dogs around. Bross and Godfrey are the Midwest team, which is perfect for Bross, a native of Missouri.

“Being a Hotdogger has been the most ‘franktastic’ year of my life,” Bross said. “I am from Wentzville, so it's been completely ‘wienerful’ to bring the Wienermobile to my home state and share it with my loved ones.

“We are Hotdoggers for one year. Each year, Hotdoggers will see anywhere between 20 and 35 states during their time on the road. We receive two weeks of training at ‘Hotdog High’ to prepare us for our coast-to-coast weenie roasts.”

And then it’s off to have adventures.

“Life as an Oscar Mayer Hotdogger is buns and buns of fun,” Bross said. “We are in a new city every week, sharing the joy of the Wienermobile and ‘meating’ incredible people. Everywhere we go, people are smiling and waving at us. You only can make that type of magic while driving a 27-foot-long hotdog.”
