All the classics are coming to Springfield for a three day celebration for any and all car enthusiasts.

The National Street Rod Association (NSRA) will have the 40th Mid-America Street Rod Nationals at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds from May 26-28.

A variety of classic vehicles will be showcased, all which exceed 30 years of age. A handful of the vehicles that will be shown will include street rods, muscle cars, hot rods, and classic cars and trucks. With the expected number of vehicles being more than 1,500 from all over the country, it is the place to be for any car enthusiast.

Not only is there a show of the classics, a variety of activities are said to take place. The latest in automotive parts and accessories will be shown off inside the E-Plex, and the “Women’s World” arts and craft show will also be inside. On Friday and Saturday, visitors can participate in a free ride-along with Gateway Mustang at the NSRA Autocross course and an automotive swap meet. Some fun for the kids, like games and a coloring contest, will also be taking place.

According to the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), about 12,000 people will attend the event over three days, and the estimated amount of spending that will occur as a result of the event is $1,042,000.

On Sunday, awards will be announced and the winners will be parked in the Circle of Winners. There are more than 40 awards that will be handed out, this includes Streets of Rods, Pro’s Picks, ISCA pick, Outstanding Use of Color, and NSRA Rep/Safety pick.

According to the Springfield CVB, the estimated number of attendees will be 12,000. Spectators will be able to attend from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

There are discounted tickets for all active military, seniors over 60, and NSRA members for $2. These tickets are available for purchase at any O’Reilly Auto Parts Store.

Admission to the Street Rod Nationals is $19 for adults and $6 for kids ages 6-13. More admissions information is available on the event website.
