Like rodeos? Start with Ozark Spring Roundup
Put on your most western boot and mosey on down to the Ozark Spring Roundup this weekend.
This nod to Western culture is packed with rodeo events, shopping, and clinics by famous Australian horseman Guy McLean. According to organizers, he has an uncanny ability to entertain an audience with his magnetic personality, quick wit and almost supernatural connection with the horse he has trained to dance, amongst other things.
This free event at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 to 3 on Sunday. The Ozark Spring Roundup is followed by the Ozark Empire PRCA Rodeo on Friday and Saturday in the Corwin Auto Arena with doors opening at 6:45 p.m.
Get your free brake light repairs on Grand Street
This Saturday, the Solidarity Network and UA Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 178 are offering free brake light repairs.
This volunteer-driven event is held monthly. Organizers say it only takes a few minutes for these volunteers to fix up your brake lights and get you good, legal and back on the road. Tell your neighbors, friends, and that one guy we all know who can't ever seem to get his stuff together.
The brake light clinic at 2501 Grand St, Springfield is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Internet tips class at the library
Do you know someone who struggles to navigate online?
The folks at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library aim to teach anyone how to move around on the world wide web. In the internet basics course, students will learn how to navigate the internet using browser menus and toolbars, how to access websites and how to add a website to their favorites. We hope they pick the Hauxeda, but in all honestly, we know nearly all Grandmas just want to see family baby photos on Facebook.
While this class is taught regularly at the library, there will be a session Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
