Springfield's entry in The Arena League will be called the Ozarks Lunkers. The team's name and logos were unveiled June 14 in a press conference at Bass Pro Shops.

Tryouts for the new Ozarks Lunkers football team of the Arena League are scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the indoor facility at Allison Sports Town, 209 Airport Boulevard.

Registration fee is $50 and includes a Lunkers sleeveless compression shirt. Players, who must be 18 or older by June 1, 2024, are required to wear black shorts. Cleats may be worn on playing surfaces.

The Lunkers are scheduled to begin play next summer at the Wilson Logistics Arena at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.
