OPINION|
by Kathleen Murnan, Springfield
I grew up in the Springfield Public Schools and am parent and grandparent of SPS students. As a Springfield resident and taxpayer, I reap the benefits of a strong vital school system. School systems can make or break a community and SPS has been an essential part of that vitality for Springfield.
In preparation for the April 2nd election, I did my homework, met candidates when possible and looked at their qualifications and experience. The candidates on my list are not running as a team, but they have the traits of team players.
Danielle Kincaid has led the board with a balanced view of keeping members on the same page in an orderly style to create consensus on important agendas.
Susan Provance has worked in the SPS system and understands as a coach that teamwork is key to success.
Kyler Sherman-Wilkins teaches at Missouri State and has a focus of maintaining strong consistent discipline to provide a safe learning environment for all.
Please consider these candidates when deciding on SPS school board members for our children’s future.
